Happy Lent, everybody! (Does one say that?)
To celebrate the start of the Lent season, I am posting a video I made a couple of years ago. This is a painting by one of my favorite painters–Pieter Brueghel–that hangs in the Brussels Musée des Beaux-Arts, contrasting the two seasons of Carnaval (Mardi Gras) and Lent. As you enter this season of fasting before feasting, I hope it gives you food for thought!
